Writting contest at UIN , 3rd winner :p

Nia, an ITB student, my cousin, has a principle that make relationship with a man is forbidden.  She joined a Muslim Organization in her campus. When she was ready to get married, she ask her  family to find out suitable husband to be for her.

And after that, she was hooked with a man named Andri. He was an alumni of STAN and he worked in tax office in Medan. Then, both of them are showed each of the photos. Fortunately, they are interested in each other. Finally, they met and decided that to get married 3 months later.

Andri’s family used to ask Nia about her brideprice but she never answer what she wanted to her. One week before she got married, she still kept her secret about her brideprice.

When day would have “ ijab Kabul”, suddenly she ask the groom to give her “Ar Rahman verses” as her brideprice. All of the guests were surprised. She wanted her groom to recite Ar Rahman verses without taking a look the Al’quran.

Then, the wedding ceremony was postpond until after dhuhur and the groom have not been able to memorized the whole of the verses. It is common for people have difficulties to memorized 78 verses in a very short time.

And after that the wedding ceremony was postpond until after asar and the groom still could not memorized it. Because of that, it was postpond again until isya but the groom could not memorized it. His family was angry because they thought that Nia was playing around with the weddind ceremony.

Finnaly, after three times failure, she permitted the groom to read Ar Rahman with the Al’quran. After that she clarified to the guests that those who recite Ar Rahman verses without taking a look at the Alqur’an when his wedding ceremony will be a responbility and loyal husband. Now, they live happily in Medan and they have got one child. Subhannallah …
